The University of North Florida Gallery of Art is an educational institution that was founded in 1981. The Gallery is located in the heart of campus next to Peace Plaza in Founders Hall, Building 2, Suite 1001. The mission of the UNF Gallery of Art is to serve students, faculty and staff by exhibiting works that support the educational mission of the university and its role in society through the diversity of disciplines, lectures, workshops, teaching, and dialogue.
The UNF Gallery of Art fulfills this mission by exhibiting student and faculty work, along with the work of nationally and internationally recognized artists, on a rotating basis throughout the academic year, and by maintaining the collections management initiative of cataloging and exhibiting works from the university’s Permanent Collection in spaces on campus. The UNF Gallery of Art also collaborates with other departments to provide a cross-disciplinary cultural forum for the university campus.
The Back Gallery is a separate space within the UNF Gallery of Art, which is dedicated to exhibitions and works that cater to specific requests by UNF faculty for the purpose of student development. The space is also used to exhibit works from the Permanent Collection on a rotating basis.
The most convenient place to park when visiting the UNF Gallery of Art and the Thomas G. Carpenter Library is in Parking Garage 44. UNF charges $5 for parking (no charge after 5:00 p.m. on Fridays).
