Institute for Mediated Intimacy: MOCA Jacksonville & Hotel 21C Cincinnati

Join Techno-Intimacy featured artists Lena Chen and Michael Neumann in an interactive performance that explores isolation and intimacy.

Join artists Lena Chen and Michael Neumann in an interactive performance that brings the viewer into the role of the director, allowing the artists to become avatars for the viewer.

Lena and Michael have been dating for two years and are about to have a baby. In hopes of spending some quality time together, the workaholic artists book a “museum hotel” for the weekend. They decide this is the perfect setting … for a performance. And the best way to relax while “working” is to let someone else run the show.

Six people from Jacksonville, Florida and six people from Cincinnati, Ohio have booked a spot to join the artists on a virtual performance, in which each audience member gets to direct a scene. Over the course of three hours, these strangers will be given control over Lena and Michael’s words and actions. How will this trip unfold?
